Cash Gifts - Gifts of cash are entirely tax-deductible and may be made in honor or memory of a loved one.

Matching Gifts - Your contribution to Gateway House may be matched by your employer. Just send your company’s matching gift form with your contribution to us.

Gifts of Appreciated Assets - These gifts, such as gifts of stock, are always welcome. Contact you financial advisor regarding transferring stock.

Planned Gifts - Planned gifts allow you to fulfill your charitable intentions with many other benefits. Through your will, the establishment of a trust, or other estate-planning tool, you may support your favorite charity, supplement your income, and enjoy numerous tax benefits. The Upstate Leave A Legacy campaign can provide valuable information regarding planned gifts. For more information, contact Leave A Legacy at (864) 243-6062 or Gateway House at (864) 242-9193.

Donated Items

Realizing the need for housing for the mentally ill, Gateway House has made a commitment to do everything possible to assist members in their search for safe, decent, and affordable housing. It is not uncommon for Gateway House staff and members to provide assistance in selecting an apartment, making deposits, obtaining furniture and food, and in making the actual move. We are presently in need of “household” items such as furniture, sheets, towels, kitchen items, toilet tissue, etc. that would assist someone moving into an apartment, maybe even for the first time. Any donations of such items would be appreciated.

There may be other items from which you feel Gateway House could benefit such as computers or office furniture. We have also received gifts of real estate for which we are extremely grateful. Please do not hesitate to contact Phil Emory, Executive Director, if you have questions regarding a donation.

Volunteer

The Gateway House Board of Directors consists of community minded volunteers with a commitment to mental health issues and the mission of Gateway House. If you are interested in applying to the Board of Directors, please contact Phil Emory at (864) 242-9193 or pemory@aol.com.

Group volunteer projects arise during the year such as landscaping, painting, and general maintenance projects. If your group is interested in a service project, please contact Phil Emory at (864) 242-9193 or pemory@aol.com.
